RE: Sarsparilla
When sprinter Ben Johnson was dragged up before the court of collective
Canadian guilt over his positive drug test at the Seoul Olympics, one of
his several interesting explanations was that he was accustomed to drinking
something know as "Sasparilla", the contents of which he could not be sure
of. According to Mr. Johnson, it was not taken to improve his running but
to "make his backbone strong".
Well, they didn't buy the story, but the concoction,... I seem to recall
Food City immediately giving it its own display (right next to the mystery
pine - p. sasparillus).
