Ah well, when I lived in the Midlands they were at best only an
occasionally seen curiosity and barely worth worrying about.  Down
here its a different thing altogether.   Out of interest, I gave up
counting after picking over 100 off a small (8ft high) Lavatera
maritima yesterday afternoon.  Every leaf is mottled and distorted as
a result of their attentions. I can verify that the nickname of 'stink
bug' is highly appropriate.

Unfortunately the RHS does have a tendency to be highly insular at
times and is not always terribly good at updating its information.  I
appreciate it has a heck of a lot to get through, but some of their
info really does need taking with the occasional, sizeable pinch of
salt.
