This talk of california poppies reminds me: I am already getting a
flower on one of the plants. They just sprouted a few weeks ago too.
The mother plant which is still hanging on is growing back a bit, and
is perrenial instead of annual. Also, what causes them to go leggy? I
didnt water it, but the mother plant had a big crop of flowers. As the
production of flowers declined, the stems got leggy, the foliage small
and more grayish, and the flowers much smaller also.
