Buchu Addendum

Just goofed off to Kirstenbosch for the afternoon & took the opportunity of
going over the buchus again. I find it notable I couldn't find the Agathosma
crenulata growing there. Indicates it is more tricky than the others
alright.
Agathosma ovata seems to be about the most easily grown of the genus with
quite a variety of forms. They have several named varieties, ranging from
groundcovers to upright shrubs to 1m high. Very attractive in flower.
The Acmadenia I was thinking of as a lovely subject is the A. heterophylla.
A compact shrub to 70 cm high with a long main flowering flush in spring/
early summer & seems to show a bit of colour for the rest of the year as
well.

We've had an unusually hot & dry winter, followed by one of the wettest &
coldest Septembers ( early springs ) I've experienced. Relatively little
colour for the time of year & all my plants just sit in the bags & don't
seem to want to move.
