The interviews I did a few years back with the growers/distributers of
Southern Highbush said that they are self-fertile but fruit more and bigger
fruit when cross pollinators are available. I grew rabbiteyes many years
ago and if I recall correctly, they do need a cross pollinator -- but
Southern Highbush do not.
