Hi, Marianne...
No, not espalier...it's a word that sounds like coppicing and I haven't found
it yet but it's in one of my reference books from years ago. It may be a term
that's been replaced with another and so has fallen out of use. I guess it's
best to go with the flow and use what's currently popular to aviod confusion.
Thanks for the idea though...espalier is a wonderful form of training many
flowering and fruiting shrubs.
What blue perennials does everyone have in bloom now? The Centaurea montana
is poking up with great enthusiasm but it's a long way off from blooming.
What looks particularly nice so far this year? Do you think it has to do with
the mild winter many of us enjoyed?
