Yes. The improvement a dressing of lime makes in baby's breath is truly
remarkable. Another plant that really benefits from lime is lavendar. It
produces bigger plants, more blooms and a longer bloom time. I also put it
on delphiniums, peonies, pinks and asters as well as helebores. Keep in mind
that the effect will depend upon the pH of your soil. Mine is 6.4. If you
pH is already over 7, you probably don't want or need to do this. If your pH
is much below 7, meaning your soil is acidic, the application of lime will
make an enormous difference for these plants.
