Mini-vase for the mini-gardener

It was a remarkably mild winter. Even the pansies made it through
and are in bloom. The pansies belong to my preschooler, who has been
picking the blooms and presenting them to me. Of course, they're 'way
too small to put into a regular vase, so these pretty flowers have been
floating in unflattering containers like Dixie cups and baby food jars.
The other day I went to a thrift shop run by a local church, looking
for a miniature vase. Didn't find any, but in the glassware section
there was a 3-inch-high glass, cylindrical, with an opening an inch
wide. The textured surface looked familiar....I'm pretty sure it was a
shotglass for Finlandia Vodka.
Fortunately, it didn't have a liquor logo so I bought it for my
daughter to use as a mini-vase for the pansies. Surprise! It's really
quite pretty, and she likes having a vase that I'm not constantly
worried about getting damaged. Best fifty cents I ever spent.
