For whatever it is worth... I have about 40 herbaceous peonies defining the
western edge of my garden. Each one was carefully selected from photos and all are
different. They are also either single, japanese or anemone form blooms. Almost
all came from Klehm. Never lost a single one and all were strong healthy divisions
that bloomed the year after transplanting. All were also exactly as the photo
illustrated when they bloomed.
Not so with a few of the others. I remember paying a premium for a small
division of a "yellow" blooming peony that was new. Believe the name was "Prairie
Moon". Photo had been doctored.. it was, at best, a cream. Certainly not yellow.
Klehm has moved their operations and have a new name as well. They are now
Song Sparrow Perennial Farm.
