Kemberly, Sorrel doesn't get leafy in pots, it needs space. And likes
dappled shade rather than complete shade. Also quite a rich, moist soil,
possibly veering towards acid - that's what mine is. Since it's found in the
wild in so many parts of the USA, is it commonly seen around your area -as
it is in the cool, wet climate of the West of Wales? Oddly enough, gardeners
in Britain don't in general grow it, and it isn't commonly found in shops.
In French cooking it is rated highly, they must think we're odd to ignore
its virtues! Don't eat your R. sanguineus, though, err on caution's side.
