Agree, Claire, weeding is part of gardening. In fact, there are some
types of weeding chores that I find mentally relaxing. There are
others that are simply chores and some are darn right
laborious....but weeding is when you get your nose down in the garden
and really see what's going on at the plant level....discover all
kinds of things - some grand (seedlings of something you really want)
and some not so (seedlings of poison ivy).
I am always amazed at the hype in the print media about "care free"
gardens. Gardening is labor, but it's good labor; good for the bod
and good for the soul.
