I'll agree with the others in that it does, indeed spread and I would
be careful of the orange colored sap (of course, who gardens in their
Sunday best, anyway?). However, I really like this because of the
leaf structure and early spring yellow flowers. One of my own
gardening theories is to let certain plants wander about the garden
and seed where they are most happy. Of course, you have to be
careful not to let it get TOO happy! If you like your gardens all
neat and tidy, this may not be for you. The plants do not spread by
runners (like Creeping Charley <Glechoma>) and is not really that
difficult to control, particularly if you dead-head your plants. For
me, it appears to be a short-lived perennial. I allow it a place in
my garden.
