Okay Valerie, no comment necessary that I've acquired another grass ;-)
Well folks, I bought this beauty with its orangey/bronze foliage at Lowe's.
The tag for the plant, specially made for Lowe's with their name on it, (and
quite large too, 3 x 3") said plant in part shade, will grow 4' tall and 2'
wide. Being a novice to grasses, I believed 'em.
I get home, and just as a precaution, I looked it up in Heronswood's
catalogue. The infamous Mr. Hinkley sites it as 14" tall. Now I realize
that plants can grow differently under different conditions, but 14" to
48"??? I don't think so.
I would say it is a safe bet that Mr. Hinkley is correct -- but I thought
I'd check with ya'll just in case.
And as a final note -- is this what I am to expect from Lowe's? They are
brand new to our area. If so, I'd like to give them some grief by e-mail,
especially since this tag was so particular, and larger than normal, like
they really know what they're talkin' about...
