hand held grass clippers

I have a question gor the group. I received a pair of Black and Decker grass
clippers for Cristmas. Today was my first attempt to use them. I'm not
impressed. There is not a lock to make the clippers keep working. I have
small hands and the beginings of carpal tunnel so needless to say I didn't
get far in grass clipping.
Does anyone know of a better brand that I should try? Any help would be
appreciated.
