Now I know HD is also called Horticultural Death but sometimes you find a
great surprise in these stores. We have three in driving distance and only
the largest of the three is stocked with these plants - call ahead. Our
local supply have been in the store only a few days.
Our largest local HD is carrying for less than 6.00 rhodendendron impeditim,
galutheria procumbens and arctostaphylos uva-ursi. The wintergreen is 4.00
and all are in one gallon pots, big healthy plants.
There has been a run on the rhodies but the others seem in good supply. Bog
Rosemary is also in the group if you think you can grow it, I will leave this
one alone.
Excepting the rhodie, these are all superior ground cover plants for shade or
part shade and usually in four inch pots for three times the cost.
I always wonder where these plants are grown - this lot are not in flower yet
so must be northern plants. If you have acid soils this is a treasure trove.
