hellebore bloom time

Barb,

Mine are situated north and just inside the drip line of a string of
white pine trees. The shade is dappled all year long, the soil is
slightly acidic. Clay predominates here but this spot never seems to dry
out to a rock and I don't generally water this bed.

They were seedlings, no more than 3" tall when planted, and have grown
and multiplied. I think they've been down 3 years now. I've always
thought this batch did well because they were planted when so small and I
watered them occasionally!
