Re: Corydalis

Corydalis lutea spreads around a lot but it is the easiest plant to pull up.
It is one of 4 weeds I really love. The other three are Begonia grandis,
Begonia sinensis and Corydalis solida. I pull up thousands of them every
year. It allows you to leave the seedlings in the best spots. I even have
Corydalis lutea growing between cinder blocks in the stairway to my crawl
space. Of the spring blooming Corydalis my favorite is Beth Evans v.
speciosa. Here are a few pictures.

They do especially well in the Midwest because they are the earliest to
bloom. With corydalis the temperature affects the coloration. That is why
so many Corydalis do not have a good a coloration as you see in pictures,
especially blue varieties. C. Beth Evans v. speciosa is every bit as
beautiful as the picture on the link.
