Just for the record, a section or two of garlic - crushed into an inch of water in a pot and gently heated (this isn't rocket science) :-) makes an excellent anti-bacterial and fungicide preparation for damping off. I used this simple recipe (you can pour it over the pot when liquid is cool or strain and spray) whenever we had a damping off problem in the propagation area. Simple, cheap and effective.I thought I had already found every way under the sun to kill my plants but I did find a new technique. Last week I had a few pots that were showing signs of damping off, so I purchased some Captan.
