Lillian - Afraid not. I am also in zone 5 (NW suburbs of Chicago) and my
mertensia has spread and is beginning to bloom. The trillium are not blooming
yet, but they are up and in bud. I don't have any uvularia.
. But things are always slower the first year.. Perhaps there is hope yet.
