Sorry - Doug
I use a home sized propane cylinder (one of the small home torches) taped to the end of a stick (its a hockey stick I note being a Canadian) :-) This lets me reach almost to the top of small trees to burn the nests (do it early in the morning or later in the day when all the caterpillars are in the nest) Eradicates the little monsters without the need of sprays (sprays are effective when the caterpillars are in the nest anyway). You can also open the nests with a stick if you let the nests get too big - there are a few birds (orioles etc) that will eat them if they're hungry.
