finding things in the garden

Evidently, the media has brought enough attention to this "find" to get
the local authorities interested.  Two of the men have been arrested for
stealing and/or receiving stolen property.  The "found" money was
actually stolen from a house  Tsk tsk tsk.

When I saw the initial news report, two things went through my mind.  First, just by the look of the two guys, 'I don't believe they've ever dug a hole for a tree in their lives' and
Second, 'finding historical stuff in a garden may end up with the entire garden being dug up and no gardening going on'!
