I rather wondered about the $$ value of the cash they found--thought
maybe if it was old, its value would be more to people who collect
currency than as cash itself, but it didn't appear that the report went
in that direction.

Guess they thought they needed a cover story to explain why they
suddenly had money.

I recently sold some old bills on eBay, and I can tell you that many of those bills were worth far more than their denominations. However, something tells me that the guys who found the money had intellects rivalled only by garden tools.
