Re: Best soil mix for containerized hellebores?

In Iowa Feb. was a terrible winter month with cold, ice, snow, wind we had it all. But it looks like the tulips, daffodils are coming up 2-4" tall. Snow if finally gone but the grass is really greening up. Busy here in the greenhouse planting my crop...so that has been enjoyable. I can't believe that it is April all ready, but time does have a way of going on, on and on. Talking about a little snow tonight and tomorrow, but that will slow down the farmers...I do so enjoy spring. I enjoy this list, and when you said you had those early plants up, I just read about how early they are, so need to plant some for next year. Becky

So far, so good in Southern NH. We had a very strange winter: a roller coaster ride of temperatures! In my garden, however, nothing seems to have sprouted at the wrong time, so I have hopes that they over wintered just fine. Crocus are blooming nicely; Siberian Iris about to. Daffs and Tulips 1" to 2" high depending on location.
