I have Stained Glass and it seems to do well enough here. I bought them wholesale from Shady Oaks a few years b4 they sold the nursery to their son. A 12 pack was about 4 by 6 inches - tiny! But plenty strong enough. And they got big pretty quickly. The leaves seem more medium to me. I don't buy thin-leaved hostas because of the slugfest. I've divided it a few times over the years. Hosta Stained Glass... if I remember correctly, this one has fairly thin leaves, and the slugs loved it... And it was not very vigorous for me... maybe there was some competition from surrounding plants, roots? Have it under a Sargent crab... maybe it wants more light, less competition? Have had it more than 5 yrs... Beth Sent from my iPad > On Apr 28, 2019, at 1:05 AM, Christopher P. But I'm curious what tidbits of knowledge some of you might have about these plants. You know, something beyond the old 'moist and well-drained' line that we find in the gardening books. Things like 'I found the color to be more intense with more sun', or 'this one needed wind protection', etc. > > I'd love to get some of your insights on these: > > Adonis amurensis > Ajuga incisa 'Bikun' > Aquilegia 'Winky Single Red-White' ** > Cacalia delphinifolia > Caltha palustris * > Caltha palustris var. multiplex > Cardiandra alternifolia > Convallaria majalis 'Aureovariegata' > Diphylleia grayi > Helleborus 'Golden Lotus' > Helleborus 'Love Bug' > Helleborus 'Sandy Shores' > Helleborus 'Silver Dollar' > Heuchera 'Miracle' > Hosta 'Bridal Falls' > Hosta 'Curly Fries' * > Hosta 'Emerald Charger' > Hosta 'Fantabulous' > Hosta 'First Blush' > Hosta 'Maui Butterflies' > Hosta 'Mini Skirt' > Hosta 'Miracle Lemony' > Hosta 'Munchkin Fire' > Hosta 'Pocketful of Sunshine' > Hosta 'Praying Hands' ** > Hosta 'Stained Glass' ** > Liriope 'Variegata' > Pachysandra procumbens * > Primula spp. * > Tricyrtis flava * > Trillium grandiflorum 'Plena' * > > * I had this once and it died > ** I have this currently and am adding more > > Thanks, and I'm hoping we can get some discussions going on the list again! > > Chris > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the > message text UNSUBSCRIBE PERENNIALS --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE PERENNIALS --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE PERENNIALS
