I have Stained Glass and it seems to do well enough here. I bought them
wholesale from Shady Oaks a few years b4 they sold the nursery to their son.
A 12 pack was about 4 by 6 inches - tiny! But plenty strong enough. And they
got big pretty quickly. The leaves seem more medium to me. I don't buy
thin-leaved hostas because of the slugfest. I've divided it a few times over
the years.

Hosta Stained Glass... if I remember correctly, this one has fairly thin
leaves, and the slugs loved it... And it was not very vigorous for me...
maybe there was some competition from surrounding plants, roots? Have it
under a Sargent crab... maybe it wants more light, less competition? Have
had it more than 5 yrs...

good idea of where things should go. But I'm curious what tidbits of
knowledge some of you might have about these plants. You know, something
beyond the old 'moist and well-drained' line that we find in the gardening
books. Things like 'I found the color to be more intense with more sun', or
'this one needed wind protection', etc.
