A catalog description of C.japonica 'Atropurpurea' describes it as
'beautiful bronze-purple foliage with umbels of small, white flowers. I
have seen this referred to as "poor man's Cimicifuga 'Brunette'."
Absolutely stunning when mixed with golds.'
My little plant of this is more liver-purple colored but already I can see
its possible potential. It is listed as a z.5 plant for sun and reaching
30". Other than the catalog description I can't find any more information.
Does anyone else have experience with this plant?
Sincerely,
Louis Mensing
