Re: Perennial Reference Books.

But most of the Timber Press books are worth it.  :) 

Specifically for perennials, I primarily use

    Still, Steven.  Manual of Herbaceous Ornamental Plants.  Stipes:
        Champaign, 1994.
    Thomas, Graham Stuart.  Perennial Garden Plants.  Portland:
        Sagapress/Timber Press, 1990.
    Wyman, Donald.  Wyman's Gardening Encyclopedia.  New York: 
        MacMillan, 1986.

I have a list of other books that I often refer to, but are more
specific (i.e. natives, groundcovers, etc.
