Susan,
Schizophragma hydrangeoides is available in two forms from Herswood
nursery, <www.eskimo.com/-mcalpin/heron/hm11.html>.
It is described as being suitable for dark difficult places. I remember
reading about it somewhere that where it grows in Japan, it covers the
forest when in bloom. I might be thinking about another climbing
hyrangea.
