RE: Eremus aka Foxtail Lily


	Is this the same as the "Desert Candle"?  If so, I have three I just
planted last fall that are showing foliage well.  As I understand it,
they need to be protected from winter wet in particular.  I have planted
mine in well-drained sandy soil underneath the eave of my house where no
rains fall, facing east in pretty much full sun.  We'll see what
happens.  They are spectacular in the bulb book photos, tall, noble, and
brilliantly colored.  These bulbs (actually, they are like big,
star-fished shaped roots that you spread out carefully and plant fairly
shallow) came from Van Engelen or White Flower Farm--I can't remember
which.
