Hi Vivian,
I just looked at Magic Earth yesterday. I admit that it is hard to
tell
what they use for the peat substitute but the way I read the label,
it
sounds like it is shredded fir tree bark. (It says forest byproducts
so.
....) It also has a number of chemical plant food additives which
might
or might not make a difference as to how your cuttings root in it.
Some
cuttings get alittle burned when rooting in soil with chemical
additives
until they are more established. I think it depends on the what
compounds are used.
I've tried the Coco peat to root cuttings and found the results very
encouraging . I have heard from someone in Australia who says over
there
, they have found the coco peat product has to much salt in it which
was
used in the processing of the pressed brick but I don't think that
applies over here in the states.
