O wise ones,
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions with our erosion problem. We're
going to tackle it will bales of straw and daylilies. I recently
received the Andre Viette catalog that had been recommended earlier
(thanks for that suggestion, too!) They offer 100 unlabeled plants of a
"hybridizing mixture" for $200. Seems like a good deal. Is it? We're
not really concerned with specific varieties. (our 2 acre lot only had
trees on the back 1/3 acre when we built the house - all else was bare
except for the builder's token landscaping package. It's been quite a
busy year...)
To Margaret and anyone else wondering, the erosion came about from
regrading and moving about 2-3 ft of soil from a large area to lessen
the steepness of a swale and improve our beautiful view over the Fair
Hill(MD) Preserve. We're really happy with the results and have no
regrets, and just a lot of mud for now.
Thanks again.
Barb (Southeastern PA, where we're grateful for every bit of rain the
grass seed is getting!)
