Re: Finding Plants via Search engines

Duncan,

I use a lot of methods, especially when I need info. on some rather obscure
genera or species. But, recently, I've found I start by going to Plantlink
and using "their" engine, which is actually a version of Metacrawler that
they have worked out some deal on so that it's more botanically oriented.
If you don't know that site, here's the URL:

http://www.plantamerica.com/palink.htm

If you don't know the botanical name, they also have a pretty huge database
that you can search either alphabetically or by common name - a search will
generally bring up a list of hits and when you click on one of them, it
activates Metacrawler.
