Dear list members,
Yesterday I received my first plant shipment of the year, six dryopteria
filix-mas (male fern). All the ferns I have ordered in the past arrived as
dormant, bare-root plants, but these are in full growth. I am wondering
whether I should go ahead and put them in the ground after a few days'
hardening off, or if I should leaves them in pots, ready to bring inside,
until I'm fairly certain there will be no frost (about May 25). What's the
advice from you folks in the colder climate areas?
TIA
