Re: Lysimachias


I purchased Lyssimachia punctata 'Alexander' 2 years ago from a tissue
culture lab.  I never did get much success from it until this year.  Now
it's getting big enough to divide or take cuttings from(anybody know if
this will work?).
My main response is to tell you that this plant does NOT bloom white. 
It's brilliant yellow with a scarlet red eye in the throat.
I had questioned the lab about the lack of vigor in my plants, and they
told me to keep them on the moister side.  I have them planted in
Sunshine Mix #1.  So, either I don't grow them very well, or it takes a
couple years to get it really going.
It certainly IS an attractive foliage.  I've had to remove it from
customers hands several times, even tho it is in the 'AREA CLOSED'
section of the greenhouse.
