There are many variegated and colorful ground covers which quickly become
invasive.Aegopodium podagaria 'Variegata' will grow anywhere, and trucks across
ground quite quickly in it's second year. Houttuynia cordata 'Chameleon', with
leaves splashed yellow and red is vigurous and will romp with the best. Stachys
sylvatica 'Huskers Variety' will travel quite quickly. All of these groundcovers
do well in almost any conditions. Of course, there's always Lysimachichia ciliata
'Atropurpurea', and L. clethroides, L. punctata. Mazus reptans is wonderful, as
is Saxifraga stolonifera.
