Re: Alliums -Reply

A question for all of you -- I've noticed that many of the bulbs this
year have been leaning, including daffodils which are generally pretty
erect. Any ideas? Too much warmth? Too much food? I feed the bulb
areas each fall...any similar experiences?

My bulbs are leaning for the first time this year as well. I was panicking,
thinking that perhaps I would lose them all, but they seem to be perking
up now. The facts that they have never acted in this manner before and
I have not changed the way that I treat them over the years indicates to
me that perhaps the wild weather from El Nino is affecting them. It had
been really hot here over the past few weeks, then we went back into
the deep freeze for more than a week with close to freezing
temperatures, and now back again to warm weather.....these poor bulbs
are just trying to make heads of tails of this weather!
