Yup! I sure wouldn't plant it anywhere near my roses. It will rush UNDER
those bricks, too. You sure don't want zoysia roots competing with your
roses. Why not use something like creeping thyme that will behave better,
and look nice and not compete much with the roses even if it does spill over?
And thyme even smells good when you walk on it!
