My lawn is mostly zoysia and have had no special problems--but then the
beds are all surrounded by professional-grade black plastic edging. Not
the most sophisticated of edgings but great for the grass. I have been
repeatedly tempted to replace the plastic with a more aesthetic choice, but
I back down every time! The grass has won the edging war (for now).
