Margaret, I've also used a screen not only to dry QAL, but also peonies. The stems are slipped right through a hardware cloth screen up to the base of the flower. The screen supports the bloom so that it dries flat. (Red peonies, however, turn a yucky black - use pink for best results). -- Barb P.
