If insecticidal soap made your rugosa drop its leaves, I wouldn't try any
other chemicals. That's one of the best things about rugosas -- it doesn't
like chemicals. I've just sprayed mine with a strong stream of water to
knock off the aphids. To be honest, I find that the aphids don't really
stick around for the long haul on the rugosas because the leaves get too
tough I guess.
