Kris:
I wouldn't recommend growing coneflowers or coreopsis in shade. I thought
these plants needed full sun; at least that's where I have them and they're
pretty happy there. In fact, I have some of the double coreopsis in
partial shade and those flop over pretty bad compared to those in full sun
and they don't bloom as well. I guess the stems are stretching to reach
what sun they can.
If you're trying to find something to grow in dry shade, I wish I could
help you. I've been trying to find something that likes those conditions
besides weeds. The most beautiful shade plants need moisture, it seems
(sigh).
