Well, Devon, our climate is too warm, too. Tho' I have heard of people who
can get the annual larkspur to grow and flower around here by putting it in
very, very early. I've had no such luck. Delphiniums - the lovely tall
marvelous kind that say summer garden in cooler climes - despise our
climate....sigh...
Hollyhocks should do fine. A place down the road from me has had them out
by the mailbox for over 20 years. They do tend to get rust pretty bad, it
seems...I've never grown them, tho' I have had a Malva that did fine and
reseeds a bit; can't remember the name of it..short lived perennial type it
seems.
