I have amended, rocky clay soil that's probably about neutral pH. I will
check about the epsom salts, I had never heard of it before, but figured
that if a grower who makes his living growing roses could recommend it,
it wouldn't hurt.
Nothing else was harmed-- there was a daylily and a phlox about the same
distance away.
