Well, it is rated to zone 6, so I don't know if it will be wintergreen for
you. But, it is wintergreen for me. Flattens out with snow and ice, but
springs right back. I'm very fond of Arum italicum. 'Pictum' may or may
not be what your plant is. Seems naming is a bit confused with this
species; could be 'Marmoratum', or simply A. italicum. But, whatever, they
are lovely plants for shady places. I have mine next to the Autumn Fern,
which is almost evergreen in mildish winters, and several other things.
Mine goes dormant sometime in late July or August and reappears by Sept.
or October, so it isn't gone for long.
If I were you, I'd try it in a very sheltered spot - your warmest
microclimate - and see what happens. If in doubt, you can always grow it
in a large pot in a cold greenhouse - if you've got one. They can take
freezing temperatures down into the teens with no problem - gets that where
I am. But your lows likely go farther down than that and beyond, say 10F,
I'm not sure how they will do.
