Lily of the Valley is supposed to be hardy to zone 1 and, in fact, my
sister-in-law grows it in Thompson, MB (zone 1 or 2 depending on which book
you consult) Could I have bought a cultivar? I've never heard of one but
I could be wrong.
Your comment about Bishop's Weed make me think about a conversation that my
sister-in-law and I had last spring. I'd just determined that my second
attempt at lamium had failed and we were looking over the situation. She
jokingly suggested Bishops Weed and I said that I'm not that
desperate--yet. Maybe soon, though.
Thanks for the idea. I'm going to look into that cultivar thing.
