Re: Orange?


I also meant to include Orange Hawkweed, Hieracium aurantiacum.  It looks
like a deep firey gold dandilion

However, a bit of care must be used when using this one since it travels by
runners and is considered a noxious weed in some places.  Interestingly
enough, it is quite common in the sandy soils of northern Wisconsin, but
uncommon in the clay soils here near Milwaukee.  I just let mine move where
it pleases ( it seems to like the spaces between the bricks next to my lily
pond), and I've not had a problem with it being too agressive.
