Hello Val,
My missing the big sale was intentional. I belong to almost all of these
organizations. Have for years and know almost everyone. Louisville is not that
big. I have given a slide presentation and lecture to about all of them at one
time or another. Will be doing the Hosta club this fall once more.
Don't want to sound snotty, but I have reached the point where I am very
selective on plant purchases.... no more daylilies, maybe a few hosta; but only
certain ones we has a list of here. Right now we are concentrating on shrubs and
trees.
As to why nurseries do not pick up on more of the unusual plants... I, for
one, am trying my best. Help to educate your local nursery or garden center. Tell
them what you want or need. The world is filled with wonderful plants for the
garden. No one nursery owner can know them all. One of the reasons for being on
this list is to listen to what you gardeners have to say.. what you are buying,
what you are interested in.
So educated me......
