Re: Japanese Beetles

I don't know, Nancy...This has been a really light year here for beetles.
(Note to list: Nancy and I live about 20 mi from each other?). Maybe they
all decided to go to the mountains for the summer! :-)

My geranium 'A. T. Johnson,' normally a JB magnet, has hardly a chew this
year. I wonder if our really dry conditions (compared to yours) have put
them off.

Has anyone ever summarized conditions that seem to favor beetles vs. those
that don't? I've always assumed the severity of the winter is a factor, but
we've had almost tropical winters for the past three years, and I don't see
heavier than normal infestations, in fact, quite the opposite.
