off-topic question

List Members,
I know this is off topic but I'm not certain where to look for the
information.
Two years ago at a close-out sale, I bought a large potted houseplant.
Large leaves 3-4 feet long. that emerge from a center similar to ferns.
But the leaves are not compound, just large with a center rib and glossy
green that darken with age.
It has issued an amazing seed stalk 14-15" long. At first the seeds were
covered with a gray/tan covering and are arranged in a regular, geometric
pattern. Now the seeds are expanding, bright red, about 3/4" long, tear
drop shaped and starting to drop. And there are hundreds of them.
Can the seeds be propagated and where might one find information on how
to do it?

I'll bet this thing is a perennial in Miami, Florida.
