Thank you Colin. I'm sure you are right on this one. I've seen pics and
it does look very similar.
I have Crocosmia 'Emily Mackenzie' and C. 'Dusky Maiden', which is somewhat
similar, but do not know 'Severn Sunrise' - may we have a description please
Colin?
I bought Lobelia x gerardii Vedrariensis - does anyone know whether this
hardy in Zone 8? I lift L. cardinalis for the winter and wonder if this
will have to be treated in the same way.

The canna you were wanting to id sounds very much like 'Wyoming' dark leaves
with orange flower, as I have this and it truly is a wonderful contrast.
The Kent group of the Hardy Plant Soc had their summer show last weekend and
the most striking displays on the Nurseries stalls were Crocosmia ('Severn
Sunrise' and 'Emily Mackenzie' were outstanding) and the tall Lobelias,
needless to say I'm a little poorer this week (but my garden is a lot
richer).
