Hi Colin,
I just read the same thing last night, but you beat me to the punch
about mailing it to the list. ;)
Gene, one test that you can apparently do is hold a white sheet of
paper against the leaves of the Crocosmia while trying to tap off any
insects that are on the plant. If you have spider mites, you should
see tiny little pin-prick sized red dots appear on the paper.
I haven't tested this on mine yet (which are yellowish too).
